February 8, 2002, Newsletter Issue #52: Happy Valentine`s Day

Tip of the Week

1. PAY ATTENTION. Really care about what your partner is saying or doing. Listen to their words. Care about the topic. This is probably THE most important thing you can do to bring on romance.

2. PAY COMPLIMENTS. Not just random ones, or `jeez you look nice`. Find something that is truly special, and show that you appreciate it. Every person wants to feel appreciated - both male and female. Make sure that your partner knows how much you appreciate what they have to offer.

3. FIND WHAT THEY LIKE. A lot of books and magazines talk about generic `get roses` or `bring chocolate`. Sure, that`s nice. But every human being has certain things that they personally love. It might be daisies. It might be gummy bears. Whatever it is, figure it out, and then surprise your parter with them. Sometimes the 10 cent cinnamon fish will be FAR more appreciated than some generic gift that costs 20 times as much. Why? Because it shows that you care about them as an individual, and not just as a `generic partner`.
