Ask boyfriend about his past?

Is it not a good idea to ask my boyfriend about his past sexual partners? I brought up the subject and he seemed to not want to talk about it.

i know exactly how he feels, the reason we don't bringing it up because we don't want to make you unconfortable, last time my gf asked me and made me bring it up she got really mad and jelous, which is why us guys don't bring up past relationships on in our current one,because old relationships tend to ruin new oones, you might no the girl he slept with or you guys might be friends or enemies and then you'll just get angry at us for something we didn't want to bring up. so i advise against bringing it up again
